Tuskegee University Construction Science Management Program Named One of BEST Values in Nation
TUSKEGEE, Ala. (June 15, 2016) — Tuskegee University’s Department of Construction Science and Management has been recognized for providing a solid, quality education and value to its students. Higher education research site Best Values Schools has named Tuskegee’s program as one of its 50 Best Value Schools for Construction Management 2016.
Tuskegee is the only historically black institution on the list, which includes several large public universities. The university was ranked No. 50. With a history that goes back to the early 20th century, the construction science and management (CSM) program is one of the oldest baccalaureate programs in the nation. For the description of the modern-day program at Tuskegee, the Best Values Schools website noted, “While students in this program can expect to learn the ins and outs of all facets of construction, from land surveying to project management, Tuskegee also complements the vocational depth of its CSM curriculum with a broad range of liberal studies. Ambitious students can even augment their degree with advanced certification options in Erosion Control Management, Landscape Management, and more.”
100 percent job placement!
The data used in the ranking methodology was from the College Navigator database. The website evaluated five equally weighted metrics: accreditation, degree popularity, program enrollment, graduation rate and net price.
The net price is $12,524 per year for Tuskegee’s CSM program. It is a member of the Associated Schools of Construction and has been granted full Accreditation Candidate Status by the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE).
“When speaking to prospective students and parents we always talk about return on investment. The fact that 57 percent of our CSM students are currently participating in the co-op/internship program and having reached 100 percent job placement for the last three years proves majoring in Construction Science and Management at Tuskegee University is a great investment,” said department head, Rogers Hunt, III.
