TSACS Alumnus, Ricardo Rojas Receives National AIA Scholarship!
The Jason Pettigrew Memorial ARE Scholarship program, part of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Architects Foundation, recognizes emerging professionals who are making significant contributions to their profession at an early stage in their careers.
Ricardo J. Maga Rojas, Associate AIA, NOMA has been awarded this important scholarship to continue his preparation for the Architectural Registration Exam (ARE). He is the 2nd TSACS alumnus to receive this scholarship, the 1st being Jennifer T. Matthews.
Ricardo holds a Master of Urban Planning (2016) from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor of Architecture (2013) from Tuskegee University’s Robert R. Taylor School of Architecture and Construction Science. He is an active member of both Texas Society of Architects (TxA) and AIA Austin, and is deserving of this award due to his ongoing involvement in advocating and promoting the profession. In 2017 alone, he has represented his firm, HA Architecture at various events including Architects Day at the Capitol, Texas A&M University AIAS Career Fair, Park(ing) Day ATX through AIA Austin DesignVoice, design critic at the UT Summer Academy via AIA Austin's Latinos in Architecture, and provided mentorship to students ages 10-14 during the Austin Hip Hop Architecture Camp as part of community outreach efforts.
